The Radio Dept. – Heaven’s On Fire

Those Swedes really have it best. The Radio Dept. are yet another great dream pop band out of Sweden that have been churning out excellent tracks since 1995. Heaven’s On Fire, off their 2010 record Clinging to a Scheme, begins with a sample of a thought-provoking statement about today’s youth from Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore. However, despite its political undertones (the song is about the corruption of the music industry), the song breaks out into a blissful, poppy summer anthem that one could easily mistake as a song about falling in love.
